Greek Olive Oil Soap.

That is the complete provenance story. There is no supply chain to audit for the olive oil specifically because we were there for the harvest and the press. The Koroneiki olive oil in every bar we make comes from our own grove in the Peloponnese.

The other oils — coconut, avocado, sweet almond, jojoba, sesame, apricot kernel, depending on the soap — we buy. We don't have a coconut grove. We are not pretending otherwise.

What Koroneiki is

A variety. One of the oldest cultivated olive varieties in the world. Small fruit. Grown almost exclusively in the Peloponnese and Crete. High oleic acid content — around 75-80%. High polyphenol content relative to many other varieties. It is what our trees are. We didn't choose it from a catalogue. It was here before us.

What makes it Greek olive oil soap

The oil, the trees and the room. Koroneiki from our own grove in Messinia, pressed where it is grown, saponified in a workshop in Tripoli — not oil bought on a commodity market and turned into soap somewhere else with a Greek word on the label. Why the variety is Koroneiki has a duller answer than most brands would give it, and the room it happens in is not photogenic.

What the blend does

Each of our six soaps is a formula. Koroneiki olive oil is the primary ingredient — the highest percentage — in every bar. The other oils and butters are added for specific reasons: coconut oil for lather and hardness, castor oil for foam stability, shea and cocoa butter for conditioning, sweet almond and jojoba for their fatty acid profiles.

We make a blend. The olive oil is the majority. We say this clearly because the alternative — implying it is only olive oil — would be incorrect.

What the soap does

Cleans skin. The formula is designed around that function. We do not make skincare claims beyond it. The INCI lists every ingredient. The pH is around 9-10, which is normal for cold process soap.
